China US Center Featured at Beijing Exhibition | November 2006
The China US Center for Sustainable Development was showcased at a November 8-11, 2006 “Exhibition on the Achievements Toward Sustainable Development” sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission and the China Association of Science and Technology.
The exhibit was designed by the Center’s China Secretariat, the Administrative Center for China’s Agenda 21. The exhibit included the mission, goals and unique organizational capacity of the Center. The exhibit also highlighted the Center’s initiatives including new town design, rural redevelopment and training and capacity building for sustainable development.
Several distinguished government officials formally visited the exhibit including those in the accompanying photograph: Xu Jialu, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress; Madame Deng Nan; Wang Weizhong, Director General of the Ministry of Science and Technology; and Dr. Guo Risheng, Director General of Agenda 21.
